I found Bitty's little blue and white snowsuit at the TS in a bag of stuff.
I knew there were some specks on it,but it was less than $1,so took a chance I could get some of the spots out.
Tried Oxyclean but no luck.
May try bleach on a Q-tip..
Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks!

You can remove most mildew and mold with just soap. Let air dry. Check the EPA web site for better info. I had a problem with mold in my house that was taken care of by a diluted bleach solution and plain soap and water. Good luck!!

When our basement flooded it did some damage to some the kids' clothes, so I did some reasearch and found the suggestion to wash it like you're supposed to, and then hang it out in the sun to dry (the sun does some thing to make the mildew go away).
I found this too:
Mildew is mold - a living organism that thrives in warm, humid environments. If your clothes become mildewy, your best bet is to act right away. The longer it stays on the fabric, the more time mildew has to weaken or even rot your clothes.
Steps:
1. Take the mildewy clothing outside and brush off any loose mold growth. (You don't want those spores floating around your house.)
2. Leave fabric in the sun to dry out - heat and sun kill mildew.
3. Presoak remaining stains in cold water, then wash in hot water with detergent. Allow to dry in the sun.
4. If stains still persist, sponge the area with diluted chlorine bleach (use 2 tbsp. bleach to 1 qt. water). After about 10 minutes, rinse.
5. Launder as usual, rinse and allow to dry in the sun.
Tips:
Take nonwashable clothing to the drycleaner and identify the stain.
Warnings:
Chlorine bleach will damage or ruin silk, wool, nylon or Spandex.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

SOFT SCRUB--you know, the sink cleaner!
Works wonders. My brother was a nasty young high-schooler and would leave soccer clothes in his truck to get disgusting and my mom figured out that this worked wonders. You can put it on and soak it in the sink or you can put it directly in the washing machine.
Let us know if it works for you...or if not this then what does work.

Some great ideas!
I did try soap and water and sun drying.
It may be that this snowsuit had been washed and dryer dried, but no loss in anything I'll try.
I'll let you know what works!
Such a cute snowsuit,too.

I've heard that if you soak it in a solution of white vinegar and lemon juice, than wash it separately, then allow to dry in the sun the mildew stains should come out of the garment. It's worth a try. ^_^
